Hotfix 8 for Baldur's Gate 3 Addresses Numerous Bugs and Gives His Majesty a Trim

The celebrated role-playing game Baldur's Gate 3 has recently been updated with several bug fixes and minor alterations, including a fresh grooming session for the beloved character, His Majesty the Cat. Ever since its launch earlier this year, the game has been subjected to numerous significant patches. However, Hotfix 8's attention is primarily drawn to smaller in-game issues and, amusingly enough, restoring His Majesty to his hairless Sphynx nature. Additionally, Steelclaw's eye color has been modified, indicating a distinctive difference between the two characters.

The full patch notes detail various bug fixes that players can anticipate. One notable fix is that companion characters will no longer hand over storyline items to the player when asked to leave, resurrecting the functionality as seen in Patch 2. The hotfix has also tackled multiple crashes that previously interrupted multiplayer sessions, one of which occurred during dialogue after an active role. Raphael's portrait has been rectified as well, showcasing his accurate hair color. Good news for Twitch users, too; drops can now be claimed on the PS5 console.

The latest major enhancement, Patch 3, introduced the option for players to modify their character's appearance courtesy of the magic mirror in the camp. This update significantly elevated the game's performance, specifically noticeable in Act 3. However, there are more developments planned, such as refining game endings and epilogues. Shielding a laudable Metascore of 96, Baldur's Gate 3 is considered one of the finest RPGs to have emerged recently, enjoying a warm welcome from critics and users alike.

The detailed Baldur's Gate 3 Hotfix 8 patch notes are as follows: companion characters will no longer transfer story items to the player when dismissed, a functionality that ripples from Patch 2. Instances of text description disappearing from reaction popups have also been addressed. The bug causing DEVICE_LOST crashes in Vulkan has been rectified alongside fixing crashes that occurred when reassigning characters in split-screen.

Additionally, the bug affecting skeletons spawned using Animate Dead, causing them to lose their ranged weapons, has been fixed. Fashionista Raphael finds his hair color and horns restored, and His Majesty loses some fur, reverting to his original Sphynx state. The team also worked on fixing the issue of Splint Armour for Githyanki females, causing unusual visual effects, and Raphael’s portraits have been updated after restoring his hair color. Lastly, fixing the issue with claiming Twitch drops not being claimable on PS5 is also featured in this hotfix.
